How to setup new win10 computer - Win10 and 2 programs on SSD, the rest on 2TB SATA hard drive

I ordered a new desktop from Costco that should arrive this week. Primary use will be photo editing in Lightroom and Photoshop.

Key computer specs are: Intel Core i7-6700K Processor 4.0GHz, 24GB DDR4 2133MHz RAM, 2TB 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive + 256GB Solid State Drive, Windows 10 Professional, 2GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 Graphics.

I want to set it up so that Windows 10, Lightroom, and Photoshop are on the 256GB SSD drive, and all the other programs and data are on the 2TB SATA drive.

Would appreciate instructions on how to do this when the new computer arrives.

Would also appreciate any other advice you can offer

    Thank you.

The default is for programs and data to use the 'local disk'. I suggest you have a look at a previous thread about choosing alternative locations.

Programs are not usually very large and installing them on C: is easiest IMO.

And therefore need to be on a fast disk - no point in a gaming machine otherwise.

    cheers, Paul
