Outlook Express 'Deleted Items Folder' (xp)

Under Local Folders in e-mail. Each time I click on "Deleted Items" a message comes up that states that the "Folder could not be displayed" and "Outlook Express could not open this folder".
Also when I go to close e-mail I get a message that states "some of the items in the "deleted items" folder could not be deleted. An error has occurred.
Any help out there?? Thanks, Weasel.

    Leif,
I tried to resolve this problem following your instructions, but when I searched, I received a reply that no files were found. Any other suggestions?
    Thanks for your help.
