    WExplorer

Just noticed that when I click on the WExplorer icon on my desktop (or even rt click on Start>Explore), it opens up to my Start folders on the right side, and a blank grayed-out section on the leftside...never happened before. Usually it had opened up with Desktop/all the directories, etc.
What happened and how can I get it back the way it was?
    <img src=/S/help.gif border=0 alt=help width=23 height=15>, please.
    TIA

Check the properties of the shortcut by right clicking on it and selecting properties. It should look similar to the attached JPG.

Depending of which Windows do you have...

Right-click the icon and choose Properties, then Shortcut tab. What do you see in Target and Start In boxes? Is Target pointed to your explore.exe ? Which switches does it have ?

To me, it is easier to use keybord hotkeys. If you have a key with WIndows logo on your keyboard, you can use {Windows} + E to open Windows Explorer.

Other useful shortcuts with Windows key:

    {Windows} - opens Start menu
    {Windows} + E -- Windows Explorer
    {Windows} + F -- Windows Find
    {Windows} + R -- Run dialog box
    {Windows} + Pause/Break -- System Properties (it's a great one!)

I don't use hotkeys - can never remember them, so I don't even bother.
    Thanks anyway.
