    Template (2000)

<img src=/S/help.gif border=0 alt=help width=23 height=15> I'm having a "goldfish day" - once around the bowl and I've forgotten everything. I inadvertently saved something as a template and it now appears in File/New. Wanting to remove it, I went into Templates and it, and a few others I have created, are not there. Just call me Goldie!

Do a "Find" (search) on ALL drives using the name of the templete and it will list where it is at so you can delete it.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

Thanks Dave - still couldn't find it but I got out of the bowl and right clicked on the file and lo and behold - a delete option.
    Just tired I guess.
    Thanks again

Search is a funny thing, for the following reason: if you are not viewing hidden files and folders, it will not search inside hidden folders, even if the files and subfolders are not hidden.

My added templates are stored, on a Windows 2000 PC, in:

    Cocuments and Settings<username>Application DataMicrosoftTemplates

However, Application Data is a hidden folder. If, in Windows Explorer under Tools, Folder options, View tab I enable "Do not show hidden files and folders," then no templates come up in a search. If I enable "Show hidden files and folders," then they do.

I'm guessing this is why your search was not successful.

A-Ha! So are mine .... but what a rigmarole to go through. Thanks for the lead - I'll file this away for 'ron!
I managed to delete it with a right click anyway.
