    Change Celeron for P-IV

My eMachine 466i has a Celeron (466Mhz). Although, for what I paid I can't complain, I would appreciate info on what motherboard to buy to upgrade to a Pentium IV. Thanks in advance!

eMachines can be a bit tricky. Providing that you have the standard ATX case I would go with an ASUS or AOpen brand board. I would not go with the high end board because you RAM would be useless, the Hard Drive might be too slow (ATA66) and a few other factors. I would go with the IBM 845 Chipset and SDRAM set up.

I know you wanted to go P4. I just did a AMD Athalon 1.4 from a celeron eMachine. I used a Gigabyte 7zxe board. It allowed me to reuse the RAM as well as all other components. It was a job (ok I did not get paid so it was a kiss up) for my inlaws. I'll let you know if I run into trouble at some point.
