    problem converting from 95 to 2000

    Can someone help me with this error message on a query that worked in Access 95 but doesn't in Access 2000?

    "Undefined function 'Mid' in expression"

    Here is the make-table query:
    SELECT DISTINCTROW Mid([fname],1,1) & Mid([lname],1,5) AS partname, Count(*) AS reccount, eagle.FNAME, eagle.LNAME INTO TblDups
    FROM eagle
    GROUP BY Mid([fname],1,1) & Mid([lname],1,5), eagle.FNAME, eagle.LNAME
    HAVING (((Count(*))>1));

    Hi,
    My first suggestion would be to check the database references to see if any are missing - this causes a lot of function errors. Open the VBEditor and look under Tools-References and uncheck anything that says MISSING in front of it.
    Hope that helps.

    Oh, sorry, I meant to put that in: Press Alt and f11 together.

    I found the VBEditor; I unchecked the MISSING help file. My
    problem went away. Thanks very much!
