    Sounds in email (5)

I have seen examples of e-mails where there are sounds when you open them. For examples of what I am talking about go to http://thundercloud.net/

Can anybody tell me how they do it?

In new message Tools>Rich Text then Tools>Background>sound. Browse to music folder and choose a midi assuming of course that you have a folder with midi files or very small wav files. There are numerous sites on the web where you can find midi music.

Thanks for the reply. Any idea how to accomplish the same in Outlook, not Outlook Express?

No sorry. I changed from Outlook to Outlook Express just to make stationery.

which is really the best way to do it - save the pages as stationery and send from outlook, if you really want to send from outlook.

Thanks MJ. OE meets all my needs as I use Notepad to write the scripts and then copy and paste into the source of message. My niece has a later version of OE6 and I can't configure it to show the Edit>SOURCE>PREVIEW at the bottom of the Create Message window. Any tips? Yes it is set to HTML.

    Cheers, Di

    Re: Sounds in email (5)

There are no tabs at all at the bottom of the window no Edit Tab, Source Tab or Preview Tab. It is like the message window is set for plain text but in actual fact it isn't. I have tried setting it through Tools>Options>Send tab and checking HTML as well as making sure when I have the Create Message that it is definitely in Rich Text. Still no tabs at all appear. I can embed using the OE Wizard but I like to do a copy and paste directly from Notepad rather than put everything into the stationery folder.

On a new message form that is set to HTML format, there is no view | source edit menu item? if i check that option, all new HTML messages have the tabs visible.

Thank you MJ. Out of 6 computers all using OE6 I only have the one which I can't get the tabs visible with when I use the HTML option or Rich Text.

Click on Create mail in OE 6. At the top, click on view make sure both Status bar and Source edit are checked. Then you should have the tabs at the bottom of your email message. Hope this helps. Melinda

Ah! yes I see both those options are checked on this computer so I'll make sure they are both checked on the other machine. Thank you very much Melinda.

    Cheers, Di
