OneNote 2010 notebooks to OneNote 2016

I have 2010 notebooks in what was set up as the default location: C:\Users\cwbil\Documents\OneNote Notebooks. OneNote 2016 was installed and I cannot tell 1) Where the notebooks are, and 2) how to gain access to my 2010 notebooks.

I thought I read that 2016 saved to OneDrive, so I copied one of my 2010 notebooks there, but it doesn't show when I try in to "Open other notebooks."

What do I need to do to get this accomplished?

    Regards,
    Chuck Billow

Is this actually OneNote 2016 or the Windows Store UWP OneNote?

The default shortcut created for OneNote 2016 says "OneNote 2016" whereas the shortcut for the UWP app just says "OneNote". The UWP OneNote app is oriented towards notebooks being saved in OneDrive. The OneNote 2016 app has the more typical options when opening or saving a notebook in addition to OneDrive.

Unless I changed the title, and do not think that I did, I have OneNote, not OneNote 2016. I wouldn't mind saving to OneDrive. I would however mind having to recreate all my 2010 notebooks.

That being said, if I need to recreate my notebooks saving them to OneDrive, without the ability to open my 2010 notebooks and then just re-save them to OneDrive, I'm not interested in the "upgrade." While there are some interesting aspects, they (for me) are not quite enough to warrant changing.

    Thanks Joe.
