Office 2000 install

I am having some problems with the Help files in my Office 2000 Premium/Developer installation.

Normally, I do initially a standard (forgot the term they use for that) install. To my dismay they left out important things, like Help files for cryin' out loud!

So, I had to go into Custom setup and check off to install the Help files on disk.

Each time I call for Help, a dialog comes prompting me to insert my cd, and after I cancel, the Help files show up.

Obviously, Office is expecting to find the installed Help somewhere else, keeps nagging me for them and then goes and finds them.

How can I stop this nagging?
PS. Help now unfolds like an accordion from the right side of my monitor which I am not enthralled by either.
Anyway to close the door on that?

easy stuff first - pull help away from the screen edge, then it'll float.

did you install help or are you using it as run from cd? it sounds like office thinks run from cd but you installed.

Hi MaryJ

re: Help on edge - Thank you!

Yes, I put the check mark in the 'install on disk' chkBox.

Is it safe to presume this happens with Help from all office apps? You may want to try running detect and repair from the Help key in any O2K app.
