    New Messages (5.50)

For some crazy reason, just in the last couple of days, my new messages seem to end up in my Deleted Items folder rather than the Inbox.

I cannot think of anything I may have done that would cause this but because I have a bad habit of just selecting everything in the Deleted Items folder and hitting the DEL key, I am very much afraid I am going to delete something important.

Does anyone know what may cause this?

    Thanks. <img src=/S/confused.gif border=0 alt=confused width=15 height=20>

Did you make a message rule that does this?

No, I did not - and I checked Message Rules after receiving your response and there is nothing checked.

Can this have anything to do with the Blocked Sender list. I have recently used Blocked Sender and without having gone back in to find out if those are the people/messages being sent to Delete, wonder if it is standard procedure for Blocked Senders to be sent to Delete. I would not think that would be the reason since then you are receiving the message anyway and still have to Delete it from the Deleted Items folder.

So, I am back where I started, I think, and wonder if there is not a way to fix this regardless of what is causing it.

Yes, Blocked senders are sent to the deleted items folder. I have the deleted items folder set to empty on exit (in OE6 at tools/options/maintenance, first checkbox) and do not look in it unless I delete something accidentally and haven't exited yet.

Glad I could be of assistance.

Just a word of warning though. Once items are deleted from the deleted items folder they are gone forever as far as I know. So, if you add a rule or block other senders don't forget to check the deleted items folder before you exit (or turn off delete on exit) until you are sure it is filtering like you want it to. I wouldn't want to be the cause of you losing an important message without even knowing you got it.

Yes, I thought about that so what I am doing is checking the Deleted Folder as soon as all my messages have finished downloading just to be sure there isn't something i need to see.

    Thanks again for your help.
