Would anyone be aware of the l (Storing Credit Card Numbers?)

Would anyone be aware of the law regarding storing credit card numbers in an Access Database?

The firm concerned is registered under the data protection act. (UK)

At the moment no card numbers are stored at all. Authorisation is done manually. However the next stage is to have the authorisation done electronically so the card number will need to be stored to enable the authorisation to take place and stored until confirmation is received that the funds are safely in the bank.

You should get legal advice on that from an attorney. Someone here may be able to point you toward an information source, but the Lounge doesn't offer that kind of advice.
