A quick search at Google using the exact error you reported throws up this at <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.smartcomputing.com/editorial/article.asp?article=articles/archive/l0706/25l06/25l06.asp>Smartcomputing.com</A>

    .....and this at MicroSoft:

<A target="_blank" HREF=http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q184799>Err Msg: The [Filename] File Is Linked to Missing Export... (Q184799)</A>

What operating system are ou running on? mfc42.dll has plagued me over the years, usually caused by 'newer' software replacing the expected version in the system32 directory.

    Hi Leif

I'm running on windows 98. Havent had a chance to try your other tip about the shortcut, but I tried running the actual exe file itself to no avail
