Is there a limit on the number of macros in a worksheet ?
We will be aproaching 1500 individual macros when the project is complete, and I'd
like to know if that's OK ?

I would be inclined to think that it would be a matter of memory available as opposed to a limit on macros in a workbook or sheet.
I wouldn't know of such a limit, there seems to be a limitation in the max size of one module, although I am unsure how large they can get.
1500 macro's... that's huge! Hard to maintain I would guess.
