    Internet Shortcut Icon (IE6.0)

    Hi:
I just installed IE6 & noticed that my Internet Shortcuts are now a lighter color. Does anyone know the name of the icon file that IE5.5 had? Also, when I go to Folder Options/FileTypes/Internet Shortcut, the button to change the icon is dimmed. Anyone know how to change the default icon?

    Thanks in advance.

    Re: Internet Shortcut Icon (IE6.0)

    Hi Phil
The icon you want is in %System Root%System32url.dll.
However, in 5.5 it seems even lighter than in 6.

    Re: Internet Shortcut Icon (IE6.0)

Thanks, Mel. The Internet Shortcuts do show icons from url.dll, which is in my systems folder. However, I don't have any url.dll files, except for the two identical ones in system & sysbackup. They're for IE6. I'm guessing that the installation doesn't backup the icons, as they're not essential. Maybe I'm just used to IE5.5 icons, as my desktop is that semi-dark default green.
