Default setting for Excel (Excel 2000)

    Hi everyone,

I am setting up header and footer defaults for excel and saving them in the startup as book.xlt.
I have added date, page number and also added an xla that adds the filepath to the footer.
The xla works perfectly in all other instances. However when I save it as a xlt and open a new workbook
based on this, it does not put the filepath in the footer. It displays only the filename (the xls has been saved).
I have to click on the menu option, View -> filepath in footer and then it displays the path.

Any ideas on how I can setup the default setting for all workbooks that includes the options?

    Thanks Kindly,

    Kerrie <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>

I am confused as to what you mean by "Added an xla".
Why would you want to save it as an xlt?

Did you add code to the template? If so, where and what code?
