    Object Browser Conventions (VBA6)

What's the meaning of the turquoise ball close to the Item method? (see picture)

    I am assuming the following.

When you select the turquoise ball you get a list of all the global Objects, Properties, Methods etc for the Library in question.

Attached a list of all the Object Browser icons with descriptions.

    Thanks Andrew,
I haven't been able to find such list in Office 2000 on-line help.

    Hi,
If you mean the turquoise ball just to the left of the Item method, that means that it is the default for that object (or collection). Item is usually the default for collections so you can use the shortened form Collection(0) rather than Collection.Item(0)
    Hope that helps.

    Hi Rory, thanks
    I saw that in <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.wopr.com/cgi-bin/w3t/showthreaded.pl?Cat=&Board=vb&Number=109954&page=& view=&sb=&o=&vc=1#Post109954>Andrew's reply</A> too.
    Now that I think about it, I wonder where he got it <img src=/S/confused.gif border=0 alt=confused width=15 height=20>

<I wonder where he got it >

I got it through the VBA Help file. It is rather convoluted route though. Search for Object Browser, then Click Object Browser in the list box that pops up, then click on See Also in the resultant help page, then double click Icons Used in the Object Browser and Code Windows in the pop up list box, and you should have it.
