    Missing dri_kbfiltr

We just got a new Toshiba laptop, which came with XP Home on it. We upgraded it to XP Professional; now every time it boots, we get a message that .DIR_KBFILTR is missing. I've checked MSKB, toshiba.com and searched on Google - nothing I've found seems to apply to my situation. Has anyone got a solution to this?
    Thanks,
    - Bob

From the looks of that something is using named pipes and asking for that file or folder. But what we don't know yet. open MSCONFIG by going to Start -- Run and typing that in, and clicking OK. On the startup tab what do you see listed? Anything similar? In your All Programs - Startup folder is there anything listed?

It is seemly leftovers of the upgrading process - Windows is looking for something on remote computer ( "" operator in the beginning of the path) that is irrelevant for normal operations. You can safely delete it from bootup - Start | Run, type MSCONFIG (Enter) and click Startup button - uncheck the entry that points to remote computer on the right pane.
