    New Record (97)

Does anybody know if it is possible to activate an external programme each time a new record is inserted or updated. I can activate the external programme, but don't know where to start with knowing whenever a record in a table has been added or updated. Any advise will be excellent. By the way I'm using Access 97. Thanks

If your users are updating and inserting data using forms, the answer's easy. Simply use the AfterUpdate and AfterInsert event procedures in the forms.

However, if they're updating and inserting data directly using queries or in the tables themselves, then I don't know.

If they're doing it directly, there is no way. You can't trap table or query events.
