    Shutdown problems

When I try to shutdown or restart my PC the window saying "Please wait while your computer shuts down" appears but just stays there. The PC does nothing more and I am forced to hit the reset button and then run Scandisk when it restarts. I have also just downloaded a program which rquires the PC to be restarted but as it will not do do properly, I cannot run the program. I just get an error message syiang the PC must be restarted. How can I solve these problems?

A bit of a bottomless pit problem.

    Re: Shutdown problems

Did you try the Windows Update Site? There may be a fix to download there. Click Start/Windows Update. It will go to the update site. Click the Updates link...This works for Windows 98, I don't know about 95
