    Deleting Links (Excel97)

Can anyone tell me if there is a way to delete a link to an external workbook if there are no dependant formulas to that external workbook. Also, how could a workbook become linked to a declared variable in the VBA code stored in a Form module. How can you delete the link? Again ... thank you for your willingness to share expertise.

Thanks Jan ... I have gotten there so far but have yet to unzip the file and use it ...

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Do you know how the worksheet could have gotten linked to a variable used in the Form module? That is the link, we're trying to break.

Maybe you attached a macro to a button on the form that now somehow is attached to a macro in a different file then the one the button resides in? (copying a button can cause that...)

I don't think he copied the button ... or the form ... He couldn't tell me what he'd done prior to the link appearing. I tried to copy the worksheets and code to a new file but the link to the variable stayed right with it. LOL! ... oh well ... it may remain one of those mysteries. I appreciate the help.

    Thanks, Chance

I would start by using FINDLINK.XLA from Bil Manville. Find it at :
