    PPoint missing arrows (PP 2000)

I have a very annoying problem with PowerPoint. When I draw lines
or arrows I can't see them unless I'm in "Slide Show" view mode.
Therefore, I can't make drawings. Is there one setting I have to
    change or else?

Can't think why you would be able to see them in Slide Show if not in Slides but is the default colour for lines and arrows the same as the background?
You could try creating a line, selecting it and then changing the colour.
Daft suggestion, I know, but it's the only thing I can think of.
