    Encrypting VBA/macros (Excel 2000)-MULTI-Encrypting VBA/macros

I recall in Word 2.0 that it was possible to encrypt macros, so that the end user was unable to view/edit them. Is it possible to do a similar thing with the Office 2000 suite?

I really need a method (for Excel) to prevent the end user from "getting in" and messing things up, as well as not being able to view/copy the code for the same reasons.

    Thanks

You can hide all the code in a VBAProject by selecting the project in the Project Explorer, Right Click and select Project Properties. Select the Protection tab and check Lock Project for Viewing, enter a password.

When you close the workbook and re-open it, you should find that you cannot access the macro code without the password.

    Re: Encrypting VBA/macros (Excel 2000)-MULTI-Encrypting

Thank you Andrew. There's "so much more to it" now with all the various protection levels and all the new component structure - sheets, macros, VBA projects & modules... Just on the edge of the learning curve of this unchartered jungle. But thanks to forums like this & posters like yourself, the task is much easier & makes a lot more sense!

    Thanks again

    Alan
