recover files from formatted floppy?

I thought I was copying digital pictures to a CD from floppy disks. I then went and did full format of the floppy, Win98SE. Not a wise thing to do, until checking the CD. Now I am hoping that there is something that I can use that will recover these pictures for me. Google brings lots of programmes, but I need some solid confirmation that a programme will work, before laying out dollars. The floppies have not been touched since the formatting.
Help! Can anyone recommend, suggest? If you've been there please tell.

A good (searchable!) source for troubleshooting solutions is TechRepublic. Registration is _slightly_ extensive, but memberhship is free (they also have TechPro Guild, which isn't free but may also be of interest).

Enough background.

They recently had an article which detailed - step-by-step - the things you could try to "Rescue damaged floppy files". While your files were "damaged" (read: formatted-over) intentionally, these tips should still be of assistance. Thanks for your input Malkor. I tried the tips in the article on my test floppy but unfortunately no luck. I think it's having done a FULL format. and I don't have access to W2K. Will check the website too. Thanx.

Did find some good stuff at http://www.dtidata.com. They have demo downloads and a great little freebie to recover deleted files from a floppy.
Still searching.
