Word Asks For Office Disk (97 or 2000?)

A friend says that every time she opens Word, it asks her to insert her Office disk. When she complies, she can then access Word.

I had this problem periodically myself for a time, but cannot remember how I fixed it. I think there was a Knowledge Base article on it.

I sent your advice to her but don't have a reply yet.

If you learn more, please advise.

    Thanks.

Your friend is likely using a feature that was not installed to be run from the computer, instead the feature has to be run from the CD-ROM.

If that's the problem, then re-install Office and add back all missing components.

I sent her a note asking her to try that.

    Thanks.
