Word NOT triggering Auto or Event macros (Word 97 and later)

The attached is a Word97 document containing an embedded (OLE/ActiveX) Word 97 document.

If you double click on the OLE/ActiveX embedded document to open it, you will discover that neither the AutoOpen nor the Document_Open routines are triggered by the

    Colin,

The application-level document events are available starting in Word 2000.
Have just done a quick test on your sample document though, and alas these events don't fire either.

    No bright ideas for this.... <img src=/S/hairy.gif border=0 alt=hairy width=15 height=15>

I did several searches on other resources. Found this question asked several times but never answered. Does XP have more events? I'm still trying to install a 60GB disk so that I have enough space to install XP. --Sam

I am fairly sure the Word XP has many additional document-level events that can be defined and utilized. I don't have Office XP to play with yet, so I don't have personal hands-on with it yet, but a colleague of mine has shown me help text from Word 10/XP that seems to confirm it. I suppose in another year, our organization will be rolling out Office XP, so if I have no other solutions, we might just have to wait for that and hope the capabilities will assist with our problem. ...
