    Upgrade

While at Sam's Club the other day I saw XP on sale. I noticed that XP Home was selling for about $95 but was only for Win 98 or Me users. If you have Win 2000 (as I do) you needed to upgrade to the more expensive XP Professional for about $185. Is this really the case? Because I use Win 2000 I have to spend an extra $90?

Ummmm.....yes. You are getting penalized financially, for better or worse.

If you have another version of Windows....95, 98, or ME.....you can start clean and qualify for the upgrade. Otherwise, you need to shell out the extra $$$.

    Re: Upgrade

Unless you want to do a dual boot, and do a clean install on a different partition. You would still need to have a Windows 98 or Me cd to tell the installer that you have a copy.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.
