    Standby Very slow

I re-installed W2K and various apps on my laptop including Easy CD Creator 5 and HP CD-Writer. Now standby takes a long time (1-2 minutes) to kick in as opposed to being virtually instantaneous before. Any ideas why or what i can do to re-install the standby utility?

    TIA

    Re: Standby Very slow

I think my reply got lost Dave. I did install all of the software. I now see that if I "standby" very soon after resuming, the standby works quickly, otherwise not. I also see under Device Manager, there are two instances of ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery and one instance of AC Adapter. All reflect same drivers in WINNT folder: battc.sys and CMBatt.sys
