Send Special Character to Printer (Access 2000 /2002)

I have a requirement to send a special control character to a POS receipt printer from Star Micronics. Once the printer receives this character, it is supposed to cut the roll paper. The vendor's tech support is of little help.

Question: I have tried inserting a text box control in the report footer and inserting the hex characters in it via VBA code but this does not work. I have tried both a regular font and a Windows control font.

What is the standard way used to send special control characters to a printer? What am I missing?

    Thanks.

I don't know how to send a control character from within Access, I have installed the POS printer as Standard Text Printer and put the control character to cut the paper as end of task in the windows definition of the printer.

    Thank you for the reply.

Do you mean that you set up a stand-alone separator page? If so, what program did you use to set it up? Word?

I add a printer in windows as Standard Text Printer.
In the properties of the printer, I have a tab Device Options.
In the Device options I have End of Task sequence where i put <esc>i (the cut paper code)
I use this specific printer in the page setup of the report ticket

Thanks. I tried the same approach but it didn't work.

My environment is Win 2K Pro. In what O/S is your app running? Also, are you using Star Micronics printers? If so, which one?

The printer is an Epson TM300 and the version of Windows was 95 and now Millenium.
I attached a word document with the settings. (My version of ME is Dutch)
