    Dials up constantly

I have a Sony RX550, Home XP OEM version. I have seen the problem with other users too...not just Sony. But I can not work off line. The Dialer dials back in every time you disconnect. Very annoying. I do have a two machine network, I have it set to never dial. I have looked in every setting that I can think of and can't find a solution.

is it all the time or just under certain conditions, like when reading hTML messages?

you say you have a two machine network that is never set to dial... how are they connected and which machine is never set to dial?

Also: in your DUN connection Properties | Options, is "Redial if line is dropped" checked?

    Re: Dials up constantly

Hi MaryJ, my machine (the one that redials is the server, there isn't even a modem in the other machine). The other machine is set to never dial. Mine is set to dial a connection when the other computer request it, but keeps re-dialing even when that machine is off. There are no special circumstances....it tries to redial all the time....right after being shut down.

Re-diad if line is dropped is unchecked. I have set it both ways and then set the time longer....made no difference.
