    What frames?

When using the Google earch engine I often see a note at the beginning of various listed sites reading: "This page uses frames but your browser doesn't support them". Can someone tell me what this means? My browser is IE6 and I thought it was so hot that it supported everything. Thanks.

    Re: What frames?

Frames are a web page method of dividing the page in to section. A lot of MS sites use frames.

    Yes IE 6.0 supports frames.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

OK that's great. So why then does Google say my browser doesn't support frames? Maybe I should be asking Google.

    Re: What frames?

It's not actually your browser that doesn't support frames. The message is put on at the time web pages are developed to say to users of browsers that don't support frames that they won't be able to view the page properly. Often this message is read by the search engine and assumed to be text about the page.

While using a recent browser such as IE6 you can ignore the message and I'm afraid you will have to put up with it in search engines.
