Conversion of Access file to VB (AXP / VB6)

I would like to convert an Access FE file to VB. I see that there are a few conversion utilities out there for this purpose. Does anyone here have any suggestions on this topic? Also I am using Off XP developer. Does it have any built in utils for this purpose?

    Thanks,
    Mark

The first question is, why? I've never heard a really *good* reason for converting Access to VB, and I would be interested in hearing one.

There is a commercial product called Access2VB available from Greenwich Financial Modeling (<A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.gfminc.com>http://www.gfminc.com</A>) for a price, but you need to know VB fairly well to make it useful because a lot of Access object simply don't translate into VB equivalents. That means you have to do the hard stuff yourself. And of course, you have to fix the things that the utility converts incorrectly. <img src=/S/hairout.gif border=0 alt=hairout width=31 height=23>

There are no built-in utilities to convert from Access to VB.

I'm with Charlotte - why??? It's a major pain to try to include some types of Access control like subforms in a VB front-end, and ADP front-ends will be just as quick. We avoid VB unless it's required for a compelling reason, and there aren't very many.

    Thanks Charlotte and Wendell,
That is why I asked the question. I am researching what to do next with this DB as I am moving it to SQL. The end package will be ASP for the front end (maybe) and I understand from Wendell's comments about being cautious about ASP. It appears that ADP is the way to go using ADO. I know from testing yesterday that a lot of my VBA will need to be changed to make things work correctly.

    Thanks again,
    Mark
