I have a dial-up 56K modem. When I am accessing a web page with a lot of content (e.g. a lot of images), I often find that loading of the page stops before it is completed. Sometimes nothing is displayed until I click the Stop button, other times most of the page is displayed but the progress bar still shows as partially complete. A similar thing happens if I FTP through a web page: downloading, say a 5Mb file: 3 Mb loads then transfer just stops, and eventually the server times out. In both cases the modem connection dialogue box shows no bytes being received. My ISP is Freeserve (in the UK) - I believe this uses a caching system.

Is there something wrong with my Options settings, my ISP, general internet congestion - or something else?
