Viewing Woody's Windows XP Newsletter in Outlook (2000/SR1)

I have been trying to read my copy of Woody's Windows XP #2.05, but am having trouble. I see 3 + paragraphs, but all below that cell is green, and there is no way to scroll throgh the rest of the newsletter. I must be missing something... Is there a setting I need to change in Outlook?
    Thanks,
    nancyl

no, there seems to be a problem with outlook and some html mail. it looks like it's related to past problems with IE6 and the mlang.dll.

if you file > save as can you read it and does it save correctly in all formats permitted?

Doesn't help. I've tried saving it in the different formats that are permitted - still can't read all of it. It's like there is nothing after "generated by the backup program, following the description in". I am using IE 6.0.26. Thanks for the suggestion.

    it's certainly interesting, but don't have what i was expecting <img src=/S/sad.gif border=0 alt=sad width=15 height=15>

it does end with a closing body tag - making it appear to be legitimately short, but outlook could have corrected for missing tags.

I have been having this problem for a few weeks as well. When doing a file -> save as and choosing HTML Outlook kindly closes all open HTML tags. By doing a right-click when viewing the message in outlook and choosing "View Source" from the popup menu the source simply ends with the last word displayed in the messages - the open tags (TD, TR, TABLE, etc) are not closed!

Re: Viewing Woody's Windows XP Newsletter in Outlook (2000/SR1)

    i suspected that was the problem - but everyone i've looked at is closed. <img src=/S/sigh.gif border=0 alt=sigh width=15 height=15>

Now to figure out why. I really don't think it's the newsletter, or more people would complain. From looking at the source, does it look like all tags are not closed or only the last few, as if transmission ended prematurely?

there's more to it than just using IE6... many people are using IE6 and the same dll and don't have the problem (myself included)

All I can say is that it instantly fixed it for me! As soon as I re-booted I went into Outlook, opened the latest WWW issue and saw the entire thing.

Edited by DaveA to add URL code

After I posted I did a little more looking and found the following post in another thread. It solved the problem immediately. Apparently it is a problem introduced by installing IE6.

Re: Viewing Woody's Windows XP Newsletter in Outlook (2000/SR1)

Just had to tell you - replacing the mlang.dll fixed another problem I was having with IE 6.0. Whenever I opened a Word document, and tried to "go back," it kicked me out and restarted IE. Since I replaced the mlang.dll, it works great! Thanks!!! <img src=/S/clapping.gif border=0 alt=clapping width=19 height=23>
