    Change style but not display (WORD 97/2000)

    Hi,

    I have macro that searches the document for a particular paragraph style replacing it with a different style, change indentation & remove line numbers.

    Only problem is that the changes are reflected on the screen as the macro is doing its stuff. Is there any way for the macro to make the changes but not display anything on the screen (while it is making the changes) ?

    Thanks.
    Thanks.

    Turn off update with
    Application.ScreenUpdating = False

    Turn back on by setting to true

    You could speed up the execution by using ranges instead of selection objects. This then makes the replacements without scrolling actively through the document as they happen.
