    Illegal operation (2000 SR1a)

I have been receiving some fatal errors lately when running a macro to send a report out to email recipients. The database actually has three email report macros, and the first two work flawlessly. The third was created by copying one of the first and changing the report source and distribution list, yet every time it is run it crashes. The report itself does not cause any errors when it is run separately, either to view or to print. I'm completely baffled! <img src=/S/headthrob.gif border=0 alt=headthrob width=15 height=15>

    Re: Illegal operation (2000 SR1a)

For anyone interested, I've found and fixed what appears to have been the problem. The only thing substantially different between the SendObject commands in the macro that worked versus the one that caused the error is the Message Text. Nowhere in the Help files was I able to find any reference to maximum length, but I shortened the text and the problem went away. Undocumented bug perhaps?

You may be dealing with the maximum length of a string or you may have run into a limitation on the email side rather than in Access.
