    CD-RW won't eject

Only in the last three weeks, whenever I have a CD-RW in my CD-RW drive it won't eject (even though I'm not using it) unless I eject it while rebooting the computer.
I use Veritas for backups and this recent problem is driving me nuts.
There's no trouble with a regular CD so I've got to believe it

    Re: CD-RW won't eject

Are you using DirectCD or something else that would make use of CD-RW media? What has changed in the last three weeks, software-wise?

Yes I am using Direct CD but I've never had a problem before.
What has happened is that I've installed a new MSI motherboard and reformatted and reinstalled the entire HD.

    Re: CD-RW won't eject

I put a query on the Roxio forum and this is the solution to the problem.

When a disc is in use by DirectCD, it can not be ejected using the drive eject button. The user must use the DirectCD Wizard to eject the disc. This is because DirectCD must write some UDF related data to the disc before the disc can eject (this just takes a second or 2).
