ME edition...volume control

Have lost my volume control from the task bar....and for the life of me can not figure out how to get it back. Have just recently installed the ME edition. This thing is a different breed. Any help appreciated.

The simple answer:
In Control Panel, click Sounds and Multimedia, and check the box at the bottom of the Sound tab.

The more involved one:
If the above option is 'greyed' out, or already checked, there is a good chance there is some file corruption with your sound files, or rarely, the volume control itself. If checking the box does not work, I would try reinstalling your sound drivers, to see if that helps.
