    Proxomitron?

Does anyone out there have any experience with the program <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.proxomitron.org>Proxomitron</A>? My brother mentioned it to me as a way of keeping Geocities from popping their ads up whenever you are accessing their pages. I installed it -- freeware, cleared by Ad-Aware as non-invasive -- and it performed as promised, though I can't say I've given it a really good workout yet.

The program's documentation makes for some interesting reading. It's stated function is to intercept all incoming web pages and run them through a series of filters, disabling java, banners, sounds, etc. as customized, and then passes the filtered html to your browser. It also seems to be cooperating nicely with my ZoneAlarm.

This program may be worth looking into if you want to take more control of your browsers... but I'm also interested in hearing if anyone else is using it.

    Hi Dave
I've used this in the past (t's available from my website) and found no real problems. Inexperienced users may find it a little daunting, is all.
