Outlook Sender (Outlook 2000)

    I want to find the email address of the sender of a mail item in the inbox. Can I do this? The sendername property of the mailitem object is a display address (like "John Smith"). I've looked at the replyrecipients property, but it seems to have no items in it most of the time.

    Retrieve Sender Address in Outlook (Outlook 2000)

Edited by jscher2000 on 13-Feb-02 17:11.
There is no MailItem.From property, unfortunately. To retrieve the address of the sender of a message (in this example, objMessage), try something like this:

    strFrom = objMessage.Reply.Recipients(1).Address

    This retrieves the sender's address by forcing VBA to ask the hypothetical question, who would be the first recipient if I were to reply to this message?
