Pasting into Word (Office 2000 SR 1)

When copying and pasting from Excel (or PowerPoint) into Word, whatever I paste (tables or text) comes in a html format. I have to use the "paste special" command and select "RTF" so as not to get html formatted tables/text. Is there a way to change the default of the standard "paste" function to a default of "RTF" or to whatever "Microsoft "program" object" the pasted object comes from?

    Thank you

<A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.woodyswatch.com/office/archtemplate.asp?v6-n45>Woody's Office Watch (Vol. 6.45)</A> explained how to do a Paste Unformatted text. I don't know if that's what you're looking for, but it may help you a little.

Last October, there was also a thread sort of about this topic. You can find it <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.wopr.com/cgi-bin/w3t/showflat.pl?Cat=&Board=wrd&Number=84253&page=&view =&sb=&o=&vc=1>here</A>

    Hope this helps!
