    Save without prompt (Office 2000)

    I need a macro that will save the current version of the file without asking if I want to
    overwrite the prior saved version.
    Scenario: I have Excel files saved in more than one area (redundancy is a key to longevity).
    Each time the file is changed/altered, it is re-saved through a save-and-close macro. Each
    time the macro encounters the same file name the dialog box pops up and asks the question.
    In this instance, the answer is ALWAYS yes. I know I could date/time stamp the file name and
    that would create a unique name but that would also require additional effort to periodically
    remove outdated versions (low maintenance is a key to longevity).

    Re: Save without prompt (Office 2000)

    Hi,
    Try adding the line
    Application.displayalerts = false
    before the save bit of your macro and then
    application.displayalerts = true
    after the save.
    Hope that helps.
    Regards,
