    Strange Diagnostics

I don't know what I did to trigger the following. If I knew how to read the data it provides, maybe I'd want to keep it, however.......

This PC is now running very well, as far as I can tell. However, when it boots, a series of 6 command-line type windows open up that carry a plethora of diagnostic info. Most of it not understandable. I would like to turn off whatever it is, although closing any one of the windows, closes them all. The windows are labelled as follows:
    UDF Formatter
    DrvmCDB pending IO
    Dispatch (Unnamed)
    Dispatch ??TFSWIFS
    DrvmCDB
    Diagnostic Traces

For the correct person this is probably really useful stuff. For me it might as well be written in Greek!

    Thanks for any thoughts.

    Sincerely,

    Re: Strange Diagnostics

    Hi
Looks like CD burner software is doing it. Go to Start/Run and type MSCONFIG at the command line. Choose last tab (Startup) and disable it from there. Ignore any moans from MSCONFIG.

If you find this works and an do without it, look in Control Panel/Add Remove Programs and remove it permanently.

    Re: Strange Diagnostics

Thank you very much for the advice. I could not remember the name of the utility, MSCONFIG. I'll remember it now!

The utility that was causing this bahavior is: SSDIAG.EXE. I don't know if it's part of WinXP or my CD burning software. At any rate, it is now out of the startup.

    Thank you very much.

    Sincerely,
