Mailmerge - Using IF/THEN/ELSE with Merge Fields

Hi! I'm using Word 2K with all patches.

With mailmerge, I'm setting up an IF/THEN/ELSE statement to make a choice to print a letter with either the home or business address of the recipient. I have a field where the data equals either 'h' or 'w' (home or work). In the IF/THEN/ELSE statement I put the address blocks and Word successfully merges either the home or work address accoring to the field data.

PROBLEM: When merging, Word no longer skips blank address lines. Anybody ever attempted this and get it to work?

    TIA

Hi! I just tested a simple merge, and omit blank lines is still a functioning option in Word2K SR1(a), and still in the same place on the merge dialog.

Re: Mailmerge - Using IF/THEN/ELSE with Merge Fields

    Hi Parispat & Karen:

This only happens with conditional fields in Mail Merge. You can find examples & a cure in KB Article Q264892.

    Hope this helps.
