    Windows XP Upgrade

I currently run Win ME and want to run Windows XP. My question is, if I buy the upgrade XP (rather than the full XP) can I still "start from scratch?" IOW, I want to wipe my hard drive clean and start over. Can do I this with the upgrade package?

Yes you can start from scratch. XP will want to verify for the upgrade. You'll have to put your Me CD in, let XP verify it, then reinsert your XP CD.

Thank you! Another question: My copy of ME is on 1 of several system restoration CDs provided by Gateway when I bought the system, i.e., it isn't a stand alone ME CD. Will that confuse the XP upgrade?

Sorry, I should have included this question above...

I have 2 PCs networked with real cable and a router. Both have ME. Do I have to upgrade both or can one be ME and the other XP?

You do not need to upgrade both, but, since you will like XP, you will be upgrading the other one later.

Not sure. I've just upgraded over a retail version of ME.

If you do a CLEAN install instead of on top of ME you would have gotten a better cleaner install.
