    Customising W2K SP2 Search options

    Can anyone help please!!

I want to delete two options from the Search menu (on the Start Menu). The options are" Using Microsoft Outlook" and "Find People". I have tried all the obvious e.g. checked in C:WINNT sub folders, right clicked to name but two. Does anyone know how I can delete these options.

    Regards

    John

    Hi,
You can do this by editing the registry. You will need to delete the following keys:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentV ersionExplorerFindExtensionsStaticOutlookFind
    and
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentV ersionExplorerFindExtensionsStaticWabFind
I strongly recommend exporting these keys before you delete them so you can reinstate them easily if necessary and also, as with all things registry-related, make sure you have a recent backup!
    Hope that helps.
    Regards,
    Rory
