I'd like to assign a sound to programs of my choosing and I had a registry modification that worked in Win98 and WinME but doesn't work in XP! Adding the following the the XP registry doesn't work as it did in previous versions and there is a freeware program called Sound Associations that also works in previous versions but not XP. Both of these add the program OK to Control Panel's Sounds and let me assign wav files to the event, but then when I run the program they don't make any sound. Anyone know what could be wrong (or different about the XP registry)?
