    custom form - formulas (Outlook 2000 )

I am creating a custom form and I would like to know if what I hope to do is possible:

I would like to create a autonumber function that calculates a new number when a button is clicked. So, a user could say "generate new employee #" and click the generate button. The function would then look at the the highest employee # in the folder and add 1 to it, thus generating the new number.

Possible? I can't find any references to a field looking at other records in an Outlook folder. Any assistance is much appreciated.

You can get instructions for this in a MS KB article. Go to support.microsoft.com and search for article Q201093. It lists a number of approaches. Maybe one will work for you.
