    Dual Boot XP

I set up a separate partition and installed WIN XP on a "test system". Now that I know it works, I have done the same with my "real system." To get rid of XP on the test system, do I simply format the D drive (the new partition). Or is there an uninstall routine?

Even if you format the drive/partition containing XP, the boot loader will live on and give you an option at startup. If the main OS on the PC was Win9x, re-run Win9x setup to restore the boot sector to pre-XP status. If it was NT or 2000, you will need to manually edit the BOOT.INI file and remove references to the XP installation.

It was WIN 98 SE. Presume I would do that after I reformat the D drive????

You can do it before or after - the main reason for it is to re-write the boot sector and remove reference to the XP installation. Once you do that, you can reformat the drive from within Windows, which will be substantially faster.

So if I understand you correctly, I can run SETUP for WIN 98 - actually doing the installation of WIN 98 and then do the reformat of my second partition???
