Column and row widths in inches (Office 97 / Office XP)

Is there any way, short of continually printing and measuring, that I can tell what the size of a cell will be when printed, in inches? In other words, the cell width is usually stated as 8.38 (72 pixels) and the row height is usually 12.50 (19 pixels). If I need to make a cell 1.5 inches by 2 inches for example, what would that translate to in excel's terms? Is there a tool that I can use to figure this out? Thanks!

This is tough because, as you have determined, it is a matter of trial and error. It can be done as a macro, again by trial and error, by setting the ColumnWidth property and checking the Width properties. See Q213422 for the macro code. HTH --Sam

Edith-Ann, This works great! Thanks! I'll play with it and see if the formula works as well with the row's height. Thanks again.
