    Table of Authorities (Word 2000)

    Hi
We use Word's built in Table of Authorities. However, I have been unable to figure out how to remove the page numbering from the Table of Authorities. Does anyone know how to do this? I tried using the n switch which works in Word's TOC but it would not work. Any ideas would be appreciated.
    Thanks

I'm curious. What are you using the Table of Authorities for without page numbers?

BTW, I can't figure out any way to get rid of the page numbers either.

Re: Table of Authorities (Word 2000)

According to the user "The Table of Authorities is acutally in the bibliography section in a research memo is just a list of the authorities cited in the memo. The actual case are not included in the memo, they are just being cited. Therefore page numbers are not required at this time."

I actually have received a suggestion on how to remove the page numbers - not a switch - but it seems to work okay. It was suggested that I put the Table of Authorities in a table, turn off the border and resize the column width until the page numbers are hidden. I would prefer a switch but I will live with this for now.

There's another thing you could do once your finished with the TOA.
    1. You could select it, press Ctrl+Shift+F9 to turn it into text.
    2. Then put the cursor to the right of the first page number.
    3. Press Ctrl+Shift+F8 to turn on column select.
    4. Use the arrow left key a couple of times to select the page numbers, then arrow down to the bottom. You can also press the Alt key + left click & hold & drag to select the column.
    5. Then press delete.

Alternatively, after converting to text, you could convert to a table (separated by tabs). Then delete the page column. This will get rid of the tabs also. Then you could convert back to text, if you wanted.
